This workshop is specifically for pianists. Suitable for any age or level of experience - both in Alexander Technique or in piano.

This class is focused on providing strategies for managing pain, preventing injury and fostering pain free piano technique.

Pianists who experience wrist pain, hand pain, finger pain, elbow, arm or shoulder pain will find this useful. So too will those who suffer back pain, neck pain, headache or jaw problems when playing.

Alexander Technique is a powerful tool helping musicians find ease and confidence in performance.

It has helped instrumentalists and vocalists address issues with tendonitis, carpal tunnel and other RSI, back and neck pain, breathing and performance anxiety.

Alexander Technique creates optimal conditions for instrumental technique to flourish and musicality to be expressed.

Small group workshops offer some individual attention, in the context of group exploration of Alexander Technique as it applies to music.

Participants will gain understanding of the principles of Alexander Technique, experience guided procedures, and develop a framework for continued exploration and practice independently.

Minimum numbers apply.  Venue: Poise Alexander Technique Glen Iris.

NOTE:  Groups sessions may not be suitable for all students.  Individual lessons are able to cater to students with acute injury, specialist interest or otherwise requiring special assistance.  If you are unsure about what is best for your Alexander Technique learning, please contact the studio.
